To make your surgical experience as comfortable as possible, we require that you adhere to the following guidelines:

What/Who To Bring

  • Arrange for a responsible adult to drive you to the center, stay at the center during your surgery, and drive you home when discharged.
  • Wear comfortable casual clothing (no pantyhose), low heeled shoes, and remove all makeup and fingernail polish, acrylics, and gels.
  • Remove all body piercings prior to arrival at the surgery center.
  • Insurance card, driver’s license/I.D., and method of payment for insurance co-payments and deductible (if applicable for your procedure). We accept cash, credit or debit card, personal check and CareCredit.
  • Be sure to bring glasses and hearing aids, but please remove contact lenses.
  • Please leave all valuables and jewelry at home (we are not responsible for lost items)

Before Your Surgery

PRE-ADMISSION TESTING:
• Lab work, x-rays, and EKGs may be needed prior to your surgery. Your Surgeon will give you further details if necessary.

CONFIRMATION:
• A member of our clinical team will call you prior to your surgery date to confirm your appointment and answer any questions you may have.
• Information will be gathered regarding your medical history.
• You will be provided with any special instructions.
• We will verify your insurance and confirm that your surgery is authorized and inform you of your portion of co-payment or deductible that will be due prior to your surgery.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
• Contact your doctor and the surgery center immediately if for any reason you cannot keep your scheduled appointment for surgery; including transportation concerns, if you suspect you are pregnant, or you experience changes in your health such as cough, fever, or cold. 

24 Hours Before Surgery

Call your physician immediately if you notice a change in your health between the time you see your surgeon and the day of your procedure.

DIET (Special instructions will be communicated with Ophthalmology and Pediatric Patients):

  • Do not eat or drink anything after midnight before surgery or on the day of surgery, otherwise, your surgery will be canceled; any exceptions will be explained by our qualified staff to include medications for heart, lungs, and diabetes.
  • Do not drink alcohol 24 hours prior to your surgery.
  • Do not smoke for at least 12 hours before and after surgery.

Day of Your Surgery

WHEN YOU ARRIVE:

• Report to the receptionist at your scheduled arrival time (this time maybe 2 hours prior to your surgery time).

AFTER YOU REGISTER:
• Once registered, you will be taken to the pre-operative area where your vital signs will be assessed.
• If you require sedation or general anesthesia, an Anesthetist will meet with you to discuss and arrange your anesthesia a care.
